PhotonMed

PhotonMed project, a European initiative aimed at accelerating the development and commercialisation of photonics-based medical devices for diagnostics, monitoring, and therapeutic applications. The project, running from September 2024 to August 2027 with a budget of approximately €32 million, brings together 39 partners across nine countries.

Gasera contributes its expertise in high-sensitivity photonic gas-analysis instrumentation, focusing on sensor component development, photonic integration, miniaturisation, and testing. Participation in PhotonMed allows Gasera to expand its technology into the medical device domain, gain access to pilot-line manufacturing and regulatory pathways, and explore new market opportunities in healthcare sensing. The collaboration positions Gasera to help develop advanced, integrated photonic sensors that support next-generation medical devices
